The word Kaleidoscope is made up of ancient greek.
kalos: meaning beautiful/beauty
eidos: that which is seen: form or shape
skopeō: to look or examine 1
Most of us remember receiving kaleidoscopes in our gift bags at our friends birthday parties as kids. Feeling awestruck as this mess of mirrors, beads, and pebbles formed different colorful shapes.
I think our hearts… our souls are much like this. Our identity is made up of many unique colorful pieces that make us who we are. As we are constantly changing and growing these pieces of ourselves shift and change into beautiful masterpieces. I have a hard time believing that any two kaleidoscopes are the same, the beads and the pebbles shifting differently in each one.
That is what this blog is all about. I want to examine the shapes that are being formed by the pieces within our kaleidoscope hearts and see the beauty that I know is there.
